AIM Welcomes Back Worldwide Marine, PowerPole, Offshore Tackle, Weekend Walleye Series 2019 Sponsors

When you’re on the water or on the road, there are essentials anyone should consider taking along, and three just happen to be sponsors of the 2019 AIM Weekend Walleye Series: Worldwide Marine, the experts in boat insurance; Offshore Tackle, makers of those famous yellow planer boards, and more; and Power Pole shallow water anchors.

“We’re extremely happy to have these three aboard again for this season,” said AIM National Tournament Director Denny Fox. “They have been with AIM from the start, and believe in what we’re doing, especially Catch-Record-Release™  (C-R-R), and feel that our way of running a tournament is the only way to go now, and for the future of fishing.”

That’s strongly echoed by Bob Luellen, marine underwriter and producer, and a 20-year insurance veteran with over 30 years of experience in the marine industry, and founder of Worldwide Marine Underwriters, is also a walleye angler for fun, and on the tournament trail, and he straight out says that C-R-R is the best format going.

“I’ve sponsored AIM since Day One and I support things I believe in. C-R-R is the most intelligent way to run a tournament, period,” Luellen said. “There are no issues with anything. No municipalities with issues of us coming in and desecrating the resource. It’s really the only way to fish a tournament at this level.”

Now tell us what you REALLY feel about AIM, Bob! He also has that same conviction when it comes to selling you the right insurance for your boat, whether you’ve got a 14-foot rowboat, a yacht, or a great walleye boat like a Yamaha-powered Warrior, two other AWWS sponsors.

And, he says, if you want house insurance you go to someone who’s an expert in house insurance. You don’t buy boat insurance from a house insurance sales person.

“We represent 20 companies and I’m licensed in 48 states. I begin by asking you a series of questions. We talk about electronics you have on board, tackle and whether you fish tournaments, and we create your coverage based on what you need,” Luellen said.

“You have to be really careful about what you’re buying because you’re generally going to get boat coverage that is designed for boaters. Nine times out of 10 you’re talking to a customer service representatives who wouldn’t know a fish finder from a hair dryer.”

I’ve done enough seminars and videos where most in the fishing world know now there’s a big difference between what I do and what a standard property and casualty insurance guy does,” Luellen added. “That’s why I sponsor AIM, so the guys don’t end up with nightmares if something goes wrong. You will get more coverage for generally less money because we search the marketplace. It’s nothing for us to save you $200-$300 a year.”

Watch for a new video featuring Luellen that was made in part at the most recent National Professional Anglers Association conference, explaining how to create an inventory of your gear so you have a permanent record in case anything, from theft or damage, happens. If you’re looking for an insurance expert for your boat, old, or new, Worldwide Marine is THE place.

And, if you’re looking for the best in trolling gear, Offshore Tackle of Port Austin, in Michigan’s Thumb, is the place to look as well. Its planer boards and tools like Tadpole and Guppy in-line weights are industry standards.

This year, said Nick DeShano, Offshore’s Chief Operating Officer, the company is introducing its unique crankbait tuner, and if you’ve ever tried to get a crank running true so it will not only fool fish, but not track into your other lures too, this tool is for you.

“There’s nothing else like it,” Deshano said. “First, it doesn’t damage the bills when you tune them.” Many anglers use needle nose pliers when “tuning” a crank by tweaking the eye so it will run straight and at the right depth. Many baits can need a tweak right out of the box he said, and with these pliers, you can dial in the pressure you need to move the eye ever-so-slightly so it runs the way it was designed.

“Our tool will tune everything from small Flicker Shads to 800-series Reef Runners. All you do is adjust the tension on the tool and give it a click.”

When you’re on a jigging bite, you need a steady, stable way to keep you, your partner, and your boat on fish. Enter Power-Pole, boasting superior performance. Power-Pole’s virtually indestructible Everflex spike holds true and firm, and gently, important for sensitive lake or ocean bottoms.

Dual poles lock you into position for keeps regardless of wind and current, and deploying virtually silently, and their light weight—from 13 to just 27 pounds—allows you to mount these tools on your transom and still maintain the speed you need.

Power-Pole’s lineup includes five ways to stay put, with two more—Vision and Charge—to be unveiled soon. Check out Power-Pole, for fishing’s sake.
