Garmin and Navionics Chart Course As Returning

2021 AIM Weekend Walleye Series Supporting Sponsors

Combining the industry-leading technology of Garmin Panoptix and Livescope systems with equally industry-leading Navionics lake maps creates the best system on the water for finding both structure and fish, and both are returning for 2021 as supporting sponsors of the AIM Weekend Walleye Series.

“Garmin’s ground-breaking electronics are paired with Navionics mapping, and once you use either or both, you’ll never, ever go back,” said Denny Fox, AIM national tournament director. “The only words that anyone who’s ever used, and won, tournaments with these tools are always the same:  they’re game-changers that are years ahead of the competition.”

“Whether you equip your current electronics with Navionics chips, your phone with the Navionics apps, or trade up to Panoptix with Livescope units, and then add a Force electric bow-mount motor that can “talk” to a Garmin graph, you’ve got a whole new world of fishing to explore right at your fingertips,” Fox added.

Navionics also is sponsor of AIM’s Big Fish Thursday. After each qualifying and championship tournament, including championships, Navionics will award a new plotting chip to the team netting the largest walleye. Use a Garmin unit and register to be eligible for more cash incentives at select AIM tourneys.

Livescope, which enables you to see the fish you’re targeting in real time, comes in two different price and signal ranges.

Mounted on a transom, trolling motor, or on independent mounts made for the transducer, with Livescope, your task to find and track fish, including which ones are active, just got easier. Anglers can see real-time images from up to 100 feet away so you can avoid spooking shallower fish and still stay within casting range. You can even spot which individual fish you want to target and watch as they react to your lures.

Other Garmin features include ActiveCaptain, allowing you to control and update all charts and maps from your mobile device and automatically sync them with your unit.

Get smart notifications directly on your plotter’s screen, enabling your mobile device to stay stowed and dry. ActiveCaptain Community connects you with other users to share best advice on where to fish, or the advice, for example, on best marinas, or where to moor, or more important, where not to try.

Also use your mobile device remotely to find waypoints and routes, then add them to your plotter once on your boat and connected. Use the built-in Helm app in ActiveCaptain to see your chart wirelessly from a smartphone or tablet even when someone else is at the screen.

Garmin Force trolling motors provide up to 100 pounds of thrust on a 36-volt system, and also wirelessly connect to your Garmin plotters. Its high-efficiency motor can be used on either 24- or 36-volt systems, and comes with a built-in transducer for CHIRP traditional and Ultra High-Definition ClearVü and SideVü scanning sonars. Lakevü g3 and Lakevü g3Ultra mapping apps allow you access to 18,000 U.S. and 13,000 Canadian lakes, drilling down to one-foot contours through integrated Navionics content.

Garmin products aren’t just for water applications, either. Wearables, handhelds, dog training devices, hunting and cycling maps, regional topo maps for both the U.S. and Canada also keep your outdoor experiences fun and safe.

Haven’t got a Garmin? Lock a Navionics regional lake or coastal mapping chip into your plotter and you’re good to go. Apps can also be loaded onto your smart device as well so you can start your trip before you go by reviewing a water body or spot to hike. They feature overlays from satellite views to relief overlays, even dock-to-dock auto routing that simplify your planning.  Share your location with friends and fishing partners.

Garmin and Navionics are so complete, they offer units and mapping worldwide. Check out Garmin and Navionics and get ready for outdoor fun.
